-
Yes. We are Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLT). This is the gold standard in hospital-grade lymphatic care. While a standard massage therapist may only receive a few hours of basic lymphatic training, a CLT is a licensed health care professional who has completed a rigorous, specialized postgraduate education in the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system.
-
Not at all! Our services are for EVERYONE. While we are a clinical medical boutique at our core, we have many clients who visit for wellness sessions to help them feel their best. Whether you are looking to boost your immune system, reduce seasonal bloating, or simply want a full body detoxification, our treatments are a powerful tool for overall health. You do not need a surgical history or a medical diagnosis to experience the benefits of a systemic lymphatic flush.

The choice depends on your specific goals and whether you are focusing on a single area or your entire body.
The 50 Minute Full Body Session: This is our gold standard and highly recommended for most clients. If you have never visited Lympha Villa before, we typically recommend this as your first visit. A 50 minute session allows our licensed professionals to activate your entire system for a complete detox and systemic flush.
The 25 Minute Targeted Session: This is ideal for localized needs. If you are looking for an aesthetic facial de puffing, have a minor localized injury, or are in a later stage of post op recovery for a single area like the chin or neck, this focused session is perfect.

No. At Lympha Villa, we practice evidence-based Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) rather than aggressive Brazilian contouring. As licensed health care professionals, our team has undergone advanced training and clinical certification that far exceeds standard massage therapy.
We prioritize the physiological health of your lymphatic system over temporary aesthetic trends. Brazilian methods often use deep pressure and vigorous friction that can cause inflammation or even damage delicate lymph vessels, especially those undergoing post-op recovery. Our medical approach uses a gentle, rhythmic technique to intentionally map and move fluid. This ensures that your body heals and detoxifies without the risk of bruising or additional trauma to the tissue.
-
What types of procedures do you work with?
We specialize in recovery for a wide range of cosmetic and medical surgeries. Because we are CLTs, we understand the specific trauma caused by different surgical techniques and how to best support the healing process for each.
Our expertise includes:
Body Contouring: Lipo 360, BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty), Gynecomastia, and Mommy Makeovers.
Facial Procedures: Deep Plane Face Lifts, Neck Lifts, Rhinoplasty, and Blepharoplasty.
Breast Surgeries: Breast Augmentation, Reductions, Lifts, and Explant Surgery.
Gender Affirming Care: Top Surgery and other gender affirming procedures.
Orthopedic & Medical: Knee Replacements, Mastectomies, Lumpectomies.

The "Golden Window" for starting Manual Lymphatic Drainage is typically within the first 24 to 48 hours post op. Early intervention is key to preventing fluid from stagnating and turning into hard scar tissue (fibrosis).
The "Golden Window" for starting Manual Lymphatic Drainage is typically within the first 24 to 48 hours post op to prevent fluid from stagnating. However, this is not a one size fits all timeline.
For standard procedures like Lipo 360, many clients start the very next day. For others, it may be 3 to 5 days or even longer depending on the complexity of the surgery and your body’s initial response. In some cases, your surgeon may prefer to wait until your drains are removed or until you have reached a specific healing milestone.
Our Professional Recommendation: Every body and every surgery is different. We always recommend asking your physician if they have a specific preference for your recovery timeline. We are here to start whenever you and your medical team feel the time is right, whether that is 24 hours or two weeks after your procedure.
Our Professional Recommendation: Always consult with your surgeon first to see if they have a specific preference for your case. We are happy to coordinate directly with your doctor’s office to ensure your MLD schedule aligns perfectly with their surgical plan.

Yes. At Lympha Villa, our medical credentials allow us to provide specialized care for those recovering from more complex clinical procedures. We are highly experienced in working with clients following:
Oncology Surgeries: Mastectomies, lumpectomies, and breast reconstructions. We focus on manually rerouting fluid when lymph nodes have been removed or damaged.
Orthopedic Procedures: Total joint replacements, ACL repairs, and limb surgeries where post operative swelling can limit mobility and slow down physical therapy.
Chronic Conditions: Management of Lymphedema or Lipedema
Because we are licensed health care professionals with advanced training, we understand the specific precautions required for these cases. We work to reduce localized edema and support your body’s long term healing after major medical interventions.
-
At Lympha Villa, we always begin by referring to your surgeon's specific protocol, which we recommend following closely. While every recovery is unique and can vary greatly based on your medical history, we generally see the following patterns for cosmetic post op recovery:
Cosmetic Post Op: Most clients require between 8 to 12 sessions to achieve optimal results. These are typically spaced out over numerous weeks to manage swelling as it fluctuates through the different stages of healing.
Initial Phase: We often suggest a higher frequency in the first 2-3 weeks to prevent fluid stagnation, fibrosis and the formation of scar tissue.
Maintenance Phase: As your body begins to regulate its own fluid levels, we transition to fewer sessions per week until your recovery goals are met.
Because everyone's body responds differently to surgery, we will continuously assess your progress and adjust your plan to ensure you are healing as efficiently as possible.
-
Yes. As licensed health care professionals, we are experts at working with clients who still have drains or sutures.
However, we take a firm stance on safety: we do not milk or force fluid through incisions. That is not true lymphatic drainage and can cause infection or trauma. If you have a drain, we use precise techniques to move fluid toward it through internal pathways. This reduces pressure and discomfort safely without compromising your surgical results.
-
Not at all. Because we prioritize medical integrity over aggressive trends, our sessions are deeply relaxing. True Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, rhythmic technique that should never cause pain or bruising. Our goal is to reduce your discomfort and inflammation, not add to it.
-
Yes. We are in network with Medicare and Optum for medically necessary lymphedema care. For all other insurance plans, payment is due at the time of service, and we can provide a Superbill for you to submit for potential out of network reimbursement.
What is required to start treatment?
Because we provide clinical medical treatment for lymphedema, we always require a referral from your physician. The referral should specifically state OT Lymphedema Therapy to ensure it aligns with our specialized billing and treatment protocols.
Where can my doctor send the referral?
Your doctor can send the referral directly to our secure clinical line.
Fax Number: 833 409 2204
Once we receive the referral, our team will review your benefits and contact you to schedule your initial evaluation. Please note that insurance based sessions are focused on medical necessity and may include a combination of manual techniques, compression education, and exercises tailored to your specific diagnosis.
-
They are two different modalities with two different goals. Deep tissue is great for muscle tension, but your lymphatic system requires a more specialized approach. Because the lymph vessels are located just beneath the skin, heavy pressure can actually compress them and hinder the drainage process.
Our CLT technique is rhythmic and light, focusing on the skin and the superficial tissue where fluid accumulates. We do incorporate some targeted muscle release to help your body relax, but we never use vigorous or aggressive pressure. We focus on activating your natural circulation to clear swelling and speed up your recovery without causing any additional inflammation.
-
Wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Because Manual Lymphatic Drainage requires direct contact with the skin to be most effective, most clients choose to wear only underwear or bicycle shorts. Many of our clients prefer to remove most clothing to allow for a complete, unobstructed systemic flush.
Regardless of what you choose to wear, your modesty is our priority. We use professional medical draping with multiple soft sheets and towels to ensure you are covered and feel completely secure throughout your treatment.
A note for post op clients
If you are wearing a faja or medical compression garment, please wear it to your appointment. We will assist you out of the garment for your session and can help you back into it afterward. We recommend arriving in loose, easy to change clothing to make your experience as seamless as possible.
